The Belfountain ECO Focus is best viewed as an “umbrella” under which the
Kindergarten to Grade 6 Ontario Curriculum concepts are consolidated for
learners through authentic, highly meaningful interactions with and in the
local Credit River Watershed. The ECO Focus is “engagement learning” at
its optimum. Students apply learned knowledge and skills to meet environmental
challenges - essentially providing those learners with both the intent and ability
to become effective life-long stewards of our planet for all of its inhabitants.
